President William Ruto is set to address the nation from State House, Nairobi, on Wednesday. According to State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam, the briefing will commence at 4 PM, though its agenda remains undisclosed.

This announcement comes shortly after President Ruto condemned the breach of parliament during Tuesday's anti-finance bill protests, describing it as treasonous. He vowed to crack down on the "organizers and financiers" of the protests.

His address follows a day of intense and chaotic protests that resulted in the deaths of at least five people and injuries to over 125 others. President Ruto stated that criminals had hijacked a critical conversation, causing widespread havoc and desecrating the August House.

"I hereby put on notice the planners, financiers, orchestrators, and abettors of violence and anarchy that the security infrastructure established to protect our republic and its sovereignty will be deployed to secure the country and restore order and normalcy," President Ruto declared.

He emphasized that it is unacceptable for criminals posing as peaceful protesters to terrorize citizens, elected representatives, and institutions without facing consequences. "We must isolate crime from democratic expression and separate criminals from people exercising their freedom of expression and divergent opinion," Ruto asserted.

In a firm tone, President Ruto promised a full and prompt response to Tuesday's events to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
