A new presidential poll released by InfoTrak shows the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate, William Ruto, has lost significant support to Azimio La Umoja One Kenya flag-bearer, Raila Odinga, with 11 days to the hotly contested election.
The poll released on Thursday, July 28, showed that Ruto lost 3 per cent in Kitui, 8 per cent in Machakos and 5 per cent in Makueni in the month of July.
According to InfoTrak, in early July, the UDA flag bearer had a 29 per cent popularity rating in Machakos county compared to mid-July where his popularity stood at 21 per cent.In the same duration, the DP’s popularity in Kitui County stood at 24 per cent and in Makueni he had 21 per cent in July 2022. Researchers saw this popularity dip to 21 per cent and 16 per cent respectively in the two counties.
Meanwhile, Raila Odinga’s popularity increased from 55 per cent in early July to 57 per cent in mid-July in Kitui County.
In Machakos County, he gained 11 per cent bringing his popularity to 62 per cent from 51 per cent by the end of July.
Raila also had a significant increase in Makueni County where he gained 11 per cent during the same duration. At the moment he enjoys 68 per cent popularity in the county.
Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah had a 2 per cent popularity in Machakos County. InfoTrak reported that 3 per cent refused to answer and 12 per cent of the polled people were undecided.
Wajackoya’s popularity also declined in Machakos county. He had 4 per cent popularity in early July compared to the 2 per cent he got in mid-July.
The number of undecided voters increased from 8 per cent to 12 per cent in the same duration.
