Tanzanian gospel icon Christina Shusho recently revealed the rationale behind her choice to part ways with her pastor husband, John Shusho, shedding light on her personal journey in an interview with New Jerusalem Church TV.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter attributed her decision to a deep-seated commitment to her ministry calling, stating that she felt compelled to pursue a vision that necessitated her departure from her marital union.

"I have always been transparent and true to myself. The truth is, it's about a mission. Nothing else has changed. The assignment bestowed upon me at this juncture required me to step away from where I was. I had to leave in order to fulfill the mission," she candidly disclosed.

Addressing misconceptions surrounding her title, Shusho clarified that she does not identify as a pastor and prefers to be recognized as a dreamer with a distinct vision yet to be realized.

"I am a dreamer. There's a vision I must see through. I choose not to bear the title of pastor. I believe there's more in store for me," she asserted.

Discussing her separation from her husband, Shusho emphasized that she sought his understanding and blessing to pursue her calling, affirming that their relationship remains amicable.

She challenged conventional beliefs about identical callings within marriages, advocating for mutual respect and support for each partner's individual journey.

"Marriage brings two individuals together, but what each possesses is unique. We must not deceive ourselves. It's crucial to reach a consensus and comprehend each other's gifts. Many women suffer when they attempt to align with their husband's calling, neglecting their own. Let's ensure we don't stifle our own calling in an attempt to impress each other," she urged.

Regarding her current public portrayal of her relationship, Shusho emphasized her focus on projects contributing to her income, prioritizing her personal brand identity.

"I only share content related to my projects, as it directly impacts my earnings. I am my own brand in the public eye," she affirmed.
