At 5:20 PM, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua commenced his defense in Parliament against accusations related to the Ksh5.5 billion corruption charges. In his prepared statement, Gachagua presented the will of his late brother, Hon. Nderitu Gachagua, as part of his evidence.

Denying claims that he owns properties such as Olive Garden Hotel, Gachagua stated, "Olive Garden Hotel and Vipingo Beach Resort belonged to the estate of my late brother, not me."

Earlier, Tiaty MP William Kamket demanded an apology from Gachagua for his remarks about Parliament, but the DP responded by expressing his respect for the House.

The Deputy President now has two hours to address the 11 charges brought against him.
