Former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani finds himself in legal trouble as detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) conduct extensive raids on his residence in Nairobi. The arrest comes as part of coordinated efforts with raids also carried out at the home of Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali in Marsabit.

Yatani, who previously served as the Governor of Marsabit before assuming a prominent role in the Cabinet under Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, faces scrutiny over alleged misconduct during his tenure. The residences of other high-ranking officials from the county are also targeted in the raids, signaling a broader investigation into governance and financial practices.

EACC officials, confirming the arrest to the Star newspaper, disclose that Yatani is currently in custody and will be transferred to the Integrity Centre for further interrogation and legal proceedings.

Sources within the EACC suggest that the arrest and subsequent raids are part of an ongoing investigation concerning the misuse of public funds. As the situation unfolds, the public is urged to stay informed for updates on this developing story, reflecting the continued efforts to combat corruption and ensure accountability in governance.
