Nyamira, August 8, 2023 - The sudden and tragic passing of Elijah Osiemo Thomas, the Majority Leader of Nyamira County Assembly, has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire region and the county assembly. The revered leader, also an assembly member representing Nyamaiya ward, lost his life in a fatal road accident on Monday evening, August 7.

In addition to his political endeavors, Elijah was celebrated for his roles as a devoted father and a loving husband. The late MCA was a father of three and frequently shared heartwarming photos of his family on his social media platforms. Tragic Accident Claims a Life

The accident that claimed Elijah's life occurred while he was traveling on the Mai Mahiu – Naivasha road with two fellow members of the county assembly. Tragically, he lost his life at the scene, while his fellow passengers sustained severe injuries. The injured MCAs, Duke Masira of Nyamira Township Ward and Priscillah Nyatichi, a nominated MCA, were rushed to a hospital for immediate medical attention.

Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo expressed his deep sorrow and shared his condolences for Elijah's family. He praised the late leader as a dedicated public servant who tirelessly worked towards the betterment of the county.
