KRA Announces Vacancies Targeting Diploma & Degree Graduates; How to Apply

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on Tuesday, November 8, announced a 12-month paid internship program for the year 2023.

In an advertisement posted on its online platform, KRA declared the opportunities targeting the youth in line with the government's initiative to develop a pool of young talent for the Kenyan labour market.

The recruitment targets graduates and interested persons were asked to submit their applications on or before Sunday, November 27.

"KRA is seeking applications from fresh Bachelor’s Degree and Diploma graduates for its January to December 2023 Internship Programme. Law degree holders pursuing the Advocates Training program (Pupils) at the Kenya School of Law are also eligible," read the statement in part.

The interns will be posted to various Support Services departments of the Authority across several disciplines including but not limited to human resources, finance, communication, data analytics, and criminology.

KRA will offer a monthly stipend of Ksh15,000 subjected to statutory deductions. The taxman declared that applications will be strictly online.

In addition, only successful candidates will be required to submit personal and state documents. 

"Once selected, candidates will be required to submit proof of a valid Personal Accident Insurance Cover, Certificate of Good Conduct, Copies of KRA PIN Certificate, NHIF, NSSF, ID card and Bank Account Details," the notice read in part.

Requirements for Application

Must be a Kenyan Citizen aged between 20 and 35 years.

Must have graduated with a first Degree (undergraduate) or Diploma from a recognized institution between January 2022 and December 2022.

Must be available full-time for the twelve months duration of the program.

Should not have undertaken any other internship or exposed to work experience in their area of specialization, after graduation.

After registration, you will receive an email enabling you to confirm your email address and complete your registration.

Key in the URL www(dot)kra(dot)go(dot)ke/careers.

Scroll to the bottom of the screen to the 'Open Career Opportunities ' section.

The internship opportunity is at the top row of the table. Click 'Apply Now'.

The link will lead you to the KRA e-recruitment portal. Key in your username and password to log in.

The system will open the ‘Applicant Cockpit’. Click the Candidate Profile’ tab

Click on ‘My Profile’ to create and update your profile and end by clicking the tab ‘Overview and Release’.

Ensure you click the check box on the page to complete the profile.

Application process:

Click on the tab ‘Employment Opportunities’ on the ‘Applicant Cockpit’ page.

Under the heading ‘Job Search’ click the ‘Start’ button to view all available vacancies.

Click on the Job posting to display the details of the Internship position.

To apply for the position, click ‘Apply’ button at the top of the page.

Follow the instructions to complete and submit your application.
