South African fitness trainer Nkululeko Zane Dlamini, popularly known as the ‘King of Squats,’ has addressed the growing curiosity around his impressive physique, particularly his glutes, which have sparked widespread attention on social media, especially among Kenyans.
The 40-year-old former professional footballer, who played for Jomo Cosmos Football Club before transitioning into fitness in 2013, has become famous for his toned and muscular rear end. His squat-focused fitness classes have attracted many women looking to sculpt their bodies, particularly their glutes, in time for the holidays.
Zane, who was recently on tour in Nairobi, acknowledged that his larger-than-average glutes have caused quite a stir, with some men feeling uncomfortable and many assuming he achieved them through artificial means. However, in a recent interview, Zane cleared the air, affirming that his physique is entirely natural and a product of years of consistent training and genetics.
“I went viral because of my body, especially my butt. In parts of Africa and Europe, it may have been the first time people saw a man with a toned, firm butt. But the truth is, I’ve always had this build since my soccer days,” Zane explained. He emphasized that the size of his glutes is a combination of intense squats, a high-protein diet, and family genetics, stating, “Everyone in my family has a big butt—it’s in our genes.”
Despite facing online trolls and accusations of using growth hormones, Zane remains unfazed by the comments. “It’s all natural. My butt is the result of hard work. The insults don’t bother me. People don’t realize how strong my quads are because they’re focused on my butt,” he added.
Zane continues to inspire many with his unique approach to fitness and is known for helping others achieve their fitness goals through his rigorous squat routines.
