Months after the publicized divorce announcement by Philip Karanja and Kate Actress, the media is now buzzing with reports of another celebrity marriage facing challenges. Actor and singer Pascal Tokodi and former NTV’s Crossover host Grace Ekirapa, once the epitome of happiness, are reported to be living separately.
The couple, who tied the knot in an exclusive ceremony in October 2020, has faced difficulties for a considerable time, with the breaking point allegedly occurring in November 2023.
Sources close to the couple reveal that the strain of maintaining a lavish lifestyle on limited resources played a significant role in their separation. Pascal, as the primary breadwinner, faced financial constraints, while Grace was a stay-at-home mom.
Despite portraying a flawless image on social media, the couple has been dealing with challenges privately. An insider disclosed that they haven't been living together for two months, with Pascal moving back to Karen, where he lived before meeting Grace, while Grace remained in Limuru.
The root cause of their marriage collapse is said to be financial issues. Allegedly, Grace had concerns about Pascal's friends, leading to strained relationships. Pascal even faced opposition to collaborations, such as the one with King Kaka, on the grounds of exploitation.
Financial decisions also played a role, with Pascal reportedly preferring a more affordable car, while Grace insisted on a more substantial investment, resulting in a car loan for a Mazda CX-5.
The couple initially resided in Kitengela, investing in renovations to meet their standards. However, they later moved to Limuru at Grace's suggestion, renovating the house again. Throughout their marriage, the pressure to maintain an expensive lifestyle reportedly rested on Pascal.
When contacted for comment, Grace expressed surprise at the phone call, avoiding a direct response to their relationship status. Pascal, on the other hand, stated, “We are actually doing okay. But thanks for asking,” and added, “If you call Grace, she will give you the same answer. We are okay.”
