Three years after the passing of Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, his former cast mates from the beloved TV show gather to pay tribute and celebrate the impact he had on their lives. On the occasion of his 3-year death anniversary, the cast members took to their social media platforms to share heartwarming messages and memories of their mentor.

Papa Shirandula passed away in 2020 at the age of 58 due to breathing complications while awaiting treatment at a local hospital. His wife, Beatrice, was by his side at the time and shared the sad news with the public.

The late actor was laid to rest in his Namisi-Bukeko village home in Nanderema, Funyula, Busia County.

Mama Nyaguthii and Njoro, characters from the popular TV show, expressed their deep love and gratitude for Papa Shirandula in their touching messages. Mary 'Nyaguthii' Airo, who played Mama Nyaguthii, recalled the positive impact Papa had on their lives and how he treated them like his own children. She thanked him for being a gateway to opportunities and expressed eternal gratitude, wishing him to continue resting in peace.

Kenneth Gichoya, who portrayed Njoro, shared a series of pictures, including one of himself at the graveside looking down sorrowfully. He expressed how he still mourns the loss of his big brother, emphasizing Papa Shirandula's larger-than-life personality and the void he left on their TV screens. He, too, sent his wishes for Papa to rest in peace.

Kenyans joined in the remembrance, leaving heartfelt comments on social media, reminiscing about Papa's magical presence on the screens and expressing their ongoing love for him.

Despite the passing of three years, Papa Shirandula's legacy continues to live on in the hearts of those he touched, and he is fondly remembered for the laughter and joy he brought to viewers across Kenya. His memory remains cherished, and his absence is still deeply felt in the entertainment industry. May he continue to rest in peace.
