The late Willis Ayieko, the Wells Fargo Human Resource manager whose body was recently discovered, is set to be buried this Saturday at his family home in Ong’iende village, Central Alego location in Siaya.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday at All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi before his remains are transported to his final resting place.

Ayieko’s body was found in the Mungowere stream on October 23, after he had been missing for several days following his attendance at a funeral in Gem. His vehicle was located abandoned at a petrol station in Sabatia, Vihiga County.

An autopsy revealed that Ayieko died from head injuries that caused bleeding in the brain, according to Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor. In addition to the head trauma, the examination noted bruises on his wrists consistent with restraints and missing tissues on his mouth, ear, and cheek, which were attributed to animal predation post-mortem.

The autopsy took place at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi and was attended by family members, including Siaya Governor James Orengo and MPs Sam Atandi and Elisha Odhiambo.

As the burial approaches, law enforcement continues to pursue additional suspects connected to Ayieko’s murder. One suspect, George Oduor, was shot and killed during a confrontation with police in Kisumu, where a firearm was recovered. Another suspect, Victor Ouma, has been taken into custody.

Recently, detectives arrested a third suspect, Otieno Omondi, a motorcycle rider believed to have assisted in the abduction of Ayieko. Omondi alleged that he was paid Sh9,000 for transporting Ouma to the abduction site and was reportedly captured on CCTV wearing a blue jacket at various locations.

The investigation remains active as authorities seek to uncover the circumstances surrounding Ayieko's tragic death.
