President William Ruto has announced his second batch of cabinet secretaries, with members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) emerging as the biggest winners.
The proposed Cabinet Secretaries are;
- John Mbadi (National Treasury)
- Salim Mvurya (Investment, Trade and Industry)
- Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife)
- Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum)
- Kipchumba Murkomen (Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports)
- Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy)
- Alfred Mutua (Labour and Social Protection)
- Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives and MSMEs Development)
- Justin Muturi (Public Service)
- Stella Lang'at (Gender, Culture, Arts & Heritage)
Notable omissions from the previous cabinet include:
- Moses Kuria, former Public Service CS
- Zachary Njeru, former Water and Sanitation CS
- Ezekiel Machogu, former Education CS
- Njuguna Ndung'u, former Treasury CS
- Aisha Jumwa, former Gender CS
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is the largest winner in the nominations, with three of its members taking up cabinet positions: John Mbadi, Hassan Joho, and Wycliffe Oparanya.
