Former Citizen TV News Anchor Jacque Maribe has made a remarkable comeback to the professional scene, securing a position at the office of Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
In a bold move, Kuria has appointed Maribe to the prestigious role of Head of Communications, demonstrating his confidence in her abilities. This decision comes barely a month after Maribe's exoneration in the highly publicized murder case involving the late Monica Kimani.
Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi, acknowledging Maribe's achievement, expressed gratitude to CS Moses Kuria for his unwavering support, stating, "Congratulations, Jacque Maribe. May God bless you as you serve."
Maribe's acquittal on February 9 by Lady Justice Grace Nzioka marked the culmination of a tumultuous legal battle. Despite being charged alongside her former boyfriend Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, Maribe was found not guilty due to lack of substantial evidence linking her to the crime.
Judge Nzioka emphasized, "The evidence of the prosecution against the second accused person did not place her in the house of the deceased on the material night. There was no evidence that she had ever communicated with the deceased."
Maribe's return to the spotlight is a significant milestone after her departure from Citizen TV in the wake of the murder case. Despite facing adversity, she briefly resumed her role as an editor at the station before ultimately departing in July 2019.
Subsequently, Maribe ventured into digital media with a YouTube talk show, albeit briefly, which featured prominent figures including Moses Kuria and former Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata, who was then a Senator.
