Pastor Ezekiel Odero's TV station, World Evangelism TV, has been reopened after a court battle. The station was shut down in April after the government heightened investigations into the Shakahola deaths over cult preachings.

The station is owned by New Life International Prayer Centre and Church where Ezekiel is the televangelist.

Ezekiel had sued the government, seeking to have the TV signals restored. He told the court he was losing Sh10 million every week as a result of the closure which meant millions were unable to follow services.

On Thursday, the church announced the reopening of its TV station and thanked God for the move.

"To Newlife family, we give God all the glory. Now we are on air in aerial, free to air decoder and satellite in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Congo and Congo DR," the church said on its official YouTube channel.

The reopening of the TV station is a major victory for Ezekiel and his followers. It is also a sign that the government is willing to respect the rule of law and the right to freedom of expression.

However, the reopening of the TV station is likely to reignite the debate over Ezekiel's preaching. Some people have accused him of engaging in cult-like practices, while others have defended his right to preach his beliefs.

It remains to be seen how the reopening of the TV station will impact Ezekiel's ministry and the debate over his preaching.
