18 people collapsed outside a court in Nairobi on Wednesday, June 14, after they had been on a 10-day hunger strike in support of their leader, Pastor Paul Mackenzie.

The followers, who were all members of Mackenzie's Shakahola cult, had been brought to court for a hearing on their detention. However, they were unable to enter the courtroom and collapsed on the ground outside.

The prosecution told the court that the 18 people had been on a hunger strike since June 4 in protest at Mackenzie's arrest. They said that the group was showing solidarity with their leader and that they were concerned for their health.

The court ordered that the 18 people be taken to hospital for treatment. They are expected to remain in hospital until they have recovered from their hunger strike.

Mackenzie and his wife, Rhodah Mumbua, were arrested on June 1 after they were accused of running a cult and brainwashing their followers. They have denied the charges.

The couple is due to appear in court again on June 21.

The collapse of Mackenzie's followers has highlighted the growing concern about the cult leader and his followers.

The Shakahola cult has been accused of brainwashing its followers, isolating them from their families and friends, and demanding large sums of money from them.

The cult has also been accused of physical and sexual abuse.

The Kenyan government has vowed to crack down on the cult and to protect its followers.

The government has said that it will not tolerate any form of abuse or exploitation.

The collapse of Mackenzie's followers is a reminder of the dangers of cults and the importance of protecting vulnerable people.
