Lawyer Miguna Miguna issued a seven-day ultimatum for Standard Group PLC to pull down articles he argued were damaging to his reputation.

Miguna, through his lawyer Adrian Kamotho, lamented that the articles published by the media house regarding his cancelled interview with Spice FM posed threats to his reputation.

He was also convinced that the published articles about his alleged refusal to sign an indemnity form were aimed at subjecting him to ridicule and humiliation.

Further, Miguna warned the media house against publishing similar articles, failure to which he would be forced to pursue legal action.

In addition, his lawyer demanded admission of liability and subsequent apology from the media entity within the given ultimatum.

“Take notice that unless you comply as aforesaid within the next seven (7) days from the date hereof, we are under firm, unequivocal and strict instructions to take such action as is necessary to secure our client's interests without further reference to you, and at your own peril as to costs and the legal consequences arising therefrom or incidental thereto,” part of the notice read.

"We hold you personally and absolutely liable for the unmitigated injury you have committed to our client," his lawyer added.

Miguna was slated for an interview with Spice FM four days after his return to Kenya on Mashujaa Day, October 20, 2022.

However, the interview was cancelled, prompting the media company to issue a statement in response to a heated debate that ensued.

Miguna was, nonetheless, adamant that he had not agreed with the company to sign any indemnity form as advanced in the statement by the Standard

Notably, the lawyer has been in the spotlight since his return from Canada, where he was exiled in 2018. Media houses have engaged him to question him over his plight during his time in exile.
