Corporal Caroline Kangongo allegedly killed two men and she is currently at large.
The police officer, now a fugitive, shocked the nation with her horrific transgressions that claimed the lives of two men believed to have been in a romantic relationship with her.
The towering corporal is the prime suspect in the cold-blooded shooting of Constable John Ogweno in Nakuru and another man, Peter Ndwiga, in Thika less than 24 hours later.
Kangogo’s early life, education
Kangogo was born in 1987 in Kamogich, Elgeyo Marakwet county to Barnaba Kipkoech Korir and Leah Kangogo. She is the firstborn in the family.
She is Christian by faith and her parents said she was brought up like a normal child. The officer started her education at Nyawa nursery in 1993.
She later joined Nyawa Boarding Primary School. She did her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2004 and scored 305 marks out of 500.
She later joined Alphonsus Mutei Girls School and scored a C- (minus) in her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
She joined Keiyo Professional Counsellors where she acquired a certificate in Basic Skills in Peer Counselling.
Joining Kenya Police
In 2008, she joined the Kenya Police College in Kiganjo.
She attained a First Class in shooting range classification. In 2014, she trained as a corporal in the same learning institution.
Security pundits deduced that the suspect might be using her shooting skill to kill her targets without sounding an alarm and evading arrests.
Marriage
The killer suspect was married to a senior police officer attached to the Maritime Police Unit in Mombasa and together were blessed with two kids aged 8 and 11 years.
Her marriage, however, was troubled as she allegedly fought with him in public over infidelity. The duo later separated but agreed to co-parent.
Before the killing scandal, Kagongo lived with their two children, but the husband has since taken them.
General conduct
According to some of her colleagues, she is an amiable person with a calm and cheerful attitude. However, others said she doesn’t fear confrontation and, many a time responds with force when threatened in any way.
A lively person who prefers the company of men, the fugitive is said to be an officer who tackles issues head-on and rarely ducks. She is believed to have been a sex worker besides her work in the police service.
She entertained men with money and would break up once the money is finished and most of the time, men would fight over her.
