Kenyans of goodwill have come together to offer a lifeline to the step-children of former KTN anchor, Esther Arunga. Within less than ten hours after veteran journalist and lawyer, Wahome Thuku, shared their plight on his social media pages, well-wishers raised over Ksh500,000 to ease their hardships and support their education.

Thuku had shed light on the difficult circumstances faced by the children sired by Arunga's estranged husband, Quincy Timberlake, and his first wife, the late Rose Mweni Gideon. These children had reportedly been struggling to access basic needs and education after the controversial love affair between Arunga and Quincy Timberlake left them in a vulnerable situation.

According to Thuku's analysis, Quincy Timberlake was previously married to Rose Mweni Gideon in the 1990s, and they were blessed with three sons. However, Timberlake deserted them in 2009 when he started his relationship with Esther Arunga.

After relocating to Australia with Arunga, Quincy Timberlake faced legal troubles as they were both arrested for the death of their child, Sinclair Timberlake, in 2014. Arunga was handed a 10-month sentence while Timberlake's case continued.

Meanwhile, Rose Mweni Gideon faced challenges raising her three children and sponsoring their education. Her passing in March 2022 left her children in even more difficult circumstances. Her eldest completed high school despite hardships, while the second-born achieved an impressive A grade, earning a spot at Chavakali Boys High School.

However, the second-born faced a hurdle in financing his university fees and needed Ksh12,500 to receive his university admission letter. Thuku urged more Kenyans to support Quincy Timberlake's children, emphasizing the significant financial obstacles they face.

The youngest child, who passed his primary school examinations, dropped out of school due to medical issues. He is currently at Green Oak, combining both Form 3 and Form 4 work. Thuku also revealed that this child is struggling to clear a Ksh33,000 school fee arrears.

Despite their hardships, the three boys are living together in a one-room house in Nairobi, having been provided housing by a well-wisher after being evicted for rent arrears.

The generosity of Kenyans who responded to Wahome Thuku's call has provided a glimmer of hope for Esther Arunga's step-children, offering them an opportunity for a better future and a chance to overcome the challenges they have faced.
