An autopsy conducted on the late media personality Rita Tinina has shed light on the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise. Government pathologist Peter Ndegwa revealed that Tinina passed away due to severe pneumonia, following an examination conducted on March 19, 2024, at the Umash Funeral Home.
"The pathologist has done the postmortem and concluded Rita died out of severe pneumonia," confirmed Ndegwa.
Timothy Njaga, a spokesperson for the family, echoed this sentiment, expressing their satisfaction with the autopsy results.
Rita Tinina, a senior reporter at the Nation Media Group-owned station NTV, was found deceased in her Kileleshwa residence on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Concerned by her absence at work, NTV management visited her home, where they made the unfortunate discovery.
In October 2023, Tinina had rejoined the Nation Media Group's NTV after departing from Standard Group Limited. Renowned for her journalistic prowess, Tinina had previously served as a senior reporter at KTN before returning to NTV.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Tinina's credentials were exemplary. Her professionalism and dedication to her craft earned her widespread acclaim among viewers and colleagues alike.
