In a recent sermon, well-known Kenyan televangelist Pastor Ezekiel Odero addressed a pressing societal issue, highlighting the behavior of men who impregnate women and then abandon them along with their children. The pastor of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church, based in Kilifi, delved into the concept of "weaponising pregnancy" against women in relationships.
During his sermon, Pastor Ezekiel empathized with a man who shared his experience of being left by women he had impregnated. The pastor took the opportunity to reflect on the challenges faced by those who find themselves single parents due to such circumstances. He specifically alluded to a "famous bongo artiste," drawing attention to his repeated relationships and parenthood with multiple women.
"There is a famous bongo artiste who habitually gets different women pregnant. He has sired several children with various women. And when he loves them, these girls don't care. They think they are the only ones he will date," Pastor Ezekiel conveyed to his congregation.
He proceeded to highlight the artist's pattern of fathering children with different women and subsequently parting ways, implying a lack of commitment to marriage.
The artist in question is Diamond Platnumz, a well-known Tanzanian musician, who has been at the center of media attention due to his romantic relationships. Diamond is currently known to have four children with three different women: Tanasha Donna from Kenya, Zari Hassan from Uganda, and Hamisa Mobetto from Tanzania.
Diamond's relationships have been the subject of extensive media coverage, particularly his high-profile romance with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna. Despite initial excitement surrounding their relationship and even announcing a grand wedding with international celebrity guests, the couple faced challenges and eventually postponed their wedding plans.
Pastor Ezekiel's sermon sheds light on societal issues surrounding relationships and parenthood, sparking conversations about accountability, commitment, and the impact of such behaviors on individuals and families. Diamond's history of relationships has also prompted discussions on the dynamics of fame, personal choices, and the public's perception of celebrity relationships.
