Last night (July 27), Brian Chira, a prominent social media influencer, was arrested following defamatory accusations made against Azziad Nasenya during a live TikTok session.
Azziad Nasenya's lawyer revealed that Chira's offensive words during the TikTok live stream caused immense distress to his client. In a video that circulated on social media, Chira used highly defamatory language against Azziad, and he even went further to leak her private phone number, resulting in strangers bombarding her with abusive calls and messages.
Azziad's lawyer stated that the damage to her reputation and brand was severe, leading her to take legal action against Chira. The influx of unwanted calls and messages containing insults and offensive content has been overwhelming for Nasenya.
Citing the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act, Azziad's legal team initiated the pursuit of legal action against Chira. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is currently conducting thorough investigations into the matter to determine the appropriate course of action.
If the evidence supports the allegations, Chira could face formal charges in a court of law. Acknowledging his actions from police custody, Chira expressed remorse for his offensive behavior. He revealed that Azziad reported the incident to the police, ultimately leading to his arrest.
Brian Chira's history of hurling insults at Kenyan celebrities has drawn attention to his previous incident involving Mulamwah. In the past, Chira called out Mulamwah for refusing to take a photo with him, adding to concerns about his conduct online.
As the case unfolds, the public and the legal community will closely follow the investigation's outcome to see how justice is served in response to Chira's defamatory actions against Azziad Nasenya.
