Celebrated Classic 105 radio presenter, Maina Kageni, criticized Governor Sakaja for crying in public.

Kageni argued that public crying goes against African cultural norms where the man is seen as the head of the household.

During his radio program, Kageni expressed his discomfort, questioning what others should do if even the governor sheds tears. This comes after the governor became emotional at an event attended by President William Ruto, where the county government launched a kitchen construction project at Roysambu Primary School.

Governor Sakaja's speech was interrupted for two minutes as he shed tears while discussing the state of public schools in Nairobi County and launching the school feeding program.

Mlango Kubwa MCA Susan Makungu joined him on stage to offer support. Opinions on the incident varied, with some accusing the governor of shedding crocodile tears while others praised his concern for the people.

The governor announced plans to build new classrooms in partnership with the government to improve the current state of education. The president mentioned that 600 new classrooms would be constructed in the county.

Governor Sakaja's program also includes a subsidized nutritious food initiative where primary and ECD children will pay Sh5 daily.
