Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya on Wednesday cracked up the House by repeatedly referring to deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei as "Madam Speaker sir".
Other members of Parliament corrected him to say "madam speaker".
He quickly responded by saying that with time, he will get used to it.
"Madam speaker, pole pole ndio napata," he said.
(Madam speaker, with time I will get it right)
The first-time youthful MP had risen to air issues facing his constituencies in Mumia East.
Key among them was that some of his constituencies do not have access to electricity, something he said needed urgent resolution to enable women in Mumias to watch him on TV.
The deputy speaker maintained a studious smile all through but other members of the House burst out in laughter.
Salasya is among the youngest MPs who were elected to the 13th Parliament during the August 9 general election.
A total of 17 youthful politicians beat the odds to be elected into Parliament at the polls.
Salasya is known widely for his exemplary sense of humour.
