KU VC Paul Wainaina has this morning stormed the university in the company of about 100 students to reclaim his position.
He was sacked in July but obtained orders stopping the sacking.
His return comes after the council that sacked him resigned earlier this week.
The decisions of that council have been overturned by the new council.
“Honesty pays,” he said.
“I’m back and we will handle the issues that made me go away” Wainaina states after being reinstated.
The court also stopped KU from advertising the VC's position pending the determination of the case.
Prof Kiamba’s council had terminated his term as the university VC and appointed Prof Waceke Wanjohi as the acting vice chancellor.
Other members of the Kiamba council are Carilus Odumbe, Jane Wamoko, Maj Gen (Red) Bashir Yussuf, Andrew Nyanchoga and Alice Muita. It is not clear if they all resigned.
On August 5, the Kiamba-led council dismissed the court directive to reinstate VC Wainaina.
