The US Embassy in Nairobi has announced a series of new visa processing requirements, set to come into effect on May 18. In a statement released via its official communication channel, formerly known as Twitter, the Embassy outlined the changes and urged applicants to ensure compliance before the deadline.

Under the new guidelines, all non-immigrant visa applicants must utilize the same DS-160 application form during their visa interview as the one used for scheduling the appointment. Non-immigrant visas cater to individuals seeking temporary entry into the United States, including for tourism, medical treatment, business, temporary work, study, or similar purposes.

Failure to adhere to these requirements will lead to the cancellation of the visa appointment, warned the Embassy. To ensure compliance, applicants must verify that the DS-160 number on their online account matches the one on the confirmation page. If a discrepancy is found, applicants must complete a new DS-160 form through the designated portal and bring the new confirmation page to their appointment.

Additionally, applicants must update their DS-160 number on their online account by accessing the designated platform and following the provided instructions. Those encountering difficulties are encouraged to seek assistance through the 'Contact Us' section on the webpage.

The Embassy emphasized that failure to confirm or update the DS-160 number by the specified deadline will result in the cancellation of the appointment, requiring applicants to reschedule.

These new measures are aimed at streamlining the visa processing system and enhancing the overall customer experience for applicants.
