Investigations into Jeff Mwathi's death on Monday, March 13, took a new turn after detectives privy to the matter identified five gaps in the probe.
Reports indicated that the police sought to establish the relationship between Mwathi and DJ Fatxo and how long the duo knew each other.
In addition, detectives sought to establish the history between the deceased and the two men he was captured with prior to his death.
The police will also want to establish the reaction of the two men after learning of Mwathi's death and any possible involvement.
“It is peculiar that the two left Mwathi in the house and went down together and it was when they were up, the deceased exited the house to end up dead in the compound.
"There is a way under normal circumstances buddies will behave and this is a matter to be analysed with the help of experts and study of footages retrieved,” read part of a report filed by police.
On the other hand, detectives are trying to investigate why DJ Fatxo took Mwathi into an entertainment joint and later into his house at night if the sole reason for the duo meeting was to offer him an interior decor job.
In conclusion, the police want to establish Mwathi's mental status prior to his demise.
During the launch of the investigations, detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) assured the public that no stone would be left unturned in the probe.
Jeff Mwathi, who worked as an interior designer, reportedly jumped through the window from the popular vernacular DJ's apartment.
According to the artist, the group spent the night at an apartment in Safari Park Estate before he left Mwathi with his cousin and others.
While speaking to the press on Sunday, March 12, DJ Fatxo claimed that he was the one who attempted to contact Mwathi's family about the incident.
He added that he reached out to his mother to contact Mwathi's family after failing to get feedback.
The artist stated that he was willing to cooperate with the police in a bid to unearth the truth.
