Death has once again robbed the family of former Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe after his daughter, Ms Langoni Kajembe, passed on at Panday Hospital, Mombasa on Wednesday evening.
Her demise comes just two weeks after that of Mr Kajembe, a veteran Coast politician.
Ms Langoni was admitted to the hospital after she collapsed on hearing about the death of her father on August 7.
“When she received news of the passing of her father she collapsed and she had since then been at the hospital. She was not even able to attend her dad’s burial. Unfortunately, today, death came for her,” a friend to the family who spoke to the Nation on condition of anonymity said.
Ms Langoni is the firstborn of Mr. Kajembe’s daughters and was said to be very close to her father, who named one of his companies after her.
The company deals with clearing and forwarding and is located in the Mombasa city centre.

The death of Mr Kajembe and his daughter follows those of his two wives, robbing the family a total of four members in a span of five months.
Kajembe’s first wife Aziza died two weeks before the death of her husband, with reports indicating that she had succumbed to Covid-19 complications.
The politician lost his second wife Zaharia four months before Aziza’s death.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala, who was once involved in politics with Mr Kajembe, was among first leaders to send his condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow and may the Almighty give them strength and courage to bear the tragic loss,” Mr Balala posted on his official social media pages.
