Authorities in Nakuru are investigating the perplexing circumstances surrounding the untimely death of a 57-year-old man while staying in a hotel room with a 21-year-old woman.

The deceased, identified as Geoffrey Njoroge Maina, and his companion, Joy Moragwa, had checked into the hotel at approximately 1 pm last Tuesday, marking the beginning of a bizarre turn of events.

According to the police, the young woman who had checked in with the now-deceased gentleman informed the hotel's receptionist around 5 pm that Maina was experiencing severe breathing difficulties. Tragically, by the time help could arrive, he was discovered lifeless on the bed.

The hotel receptionist immediately contacted the local authorities, who promptly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.

"In response to her plea for assistance, the police arrived at the scene, which was visited, processed, and documented by officers from Kaptembwo Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Nakuru West. They found the lifeless body lying on the bed with no apparent physical injuries," stated a portion of the police report.

Preliminary investigations, as reported, did not reveal any signs of physical harm or injuries on the deceased gentleman's body.

This incident in Nakuru echoes another recent tragedy in Kitengela, where a 59-year-old man tragically passed away while in the company of his 23-year-old lover.

In that case, the man succumbed shortly after having lunch at the woman's residence along Balozi Road in Kitengela, situated in Kajiado County.

The man, positively identified, had reportedly been involved in a romantic relationship with the young woman for three years. He frequently visited her during the day and left in the evenings.

According to the account given by the suspect, the pair shared a meal she had prepared, consisting of meat stew and ugali, after which they retired to their bedroom. Tragically, during their intimate encounter, the man fell unconscious at approximately 4:00 pm. The woman tried to assist him but realized that he was in a critical condition.

Alarmed by the situation, the woman reached out to a friend for help. They promptly transported the ailing man to a nearby hospital, but, sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
