Former K24 journalist Eric Njoka has candidly shared his journey through life's trials and tribulations, revealing how he faced adversity head-on and chose resilience over surrender.
In a heartfelt message posted on his Facebook page, the talented journalist opened up about the significant challenges he has encountered on both personal and professional fronts. One of the most profound blows he experienced was the loss of both his parents at the pinnacle of his career.
Rather than allowing this devastating loss to derail his path, Eric Njoka drew strength from it, fueling his determination to persevere and demonstrating his remarkable resilience.
Njoka expressed, "For years, I have had to fight back so much…so many resentments, judgments, rebukes, and undeserved hate. Many didn't, and still don't, understand me and my serious demeanor (both on and off the air) … but I keep going. I don't know what my end game is or will be."
Facing the loss of his parents and the closest supporter, best friend, and confidant a year ago could have pushed him into a state of depression. However, Njoka made a conscious choice not to let despair consume him, even though he admitted to feeling isolated.
"I lost both my parents at the peak of my career, I also lost my greatest support, best friend, and confidant a year ago. I didn't allow myself to go into depression, but I felt and still feel alone…"
Eric Njoka emphasized that he never sought validation for his pursuits, firmly believing that he had chosen his career, and it had chosen him in return. Throughout all the challenges he faced, he remained unbroken.
Reflecting on his journey, Njoka shared his perspective, stating:
"I don't aspire to be a celebrity or a star; I don't dream of that day. Instead, I feel proud to say 'been there, done that,' and I'm still going…so should you. Live your life to the fullest; careers do not define you. Be true to yourself! Stay blessed."
