Isaya Bwabi, a former watchman, has transformed his life and pursued his dream of becoming a journalist thanks to the support and guidance of veteran journalist Alex Chamwada. Bwabi, who worked as a security guard, had aspirations of becoming a photojournalist and videographer. In a stroke of fate, his employer and Chamwada's production company shared the same building, providing Bwabi with a unique opportunity.

Initially, Bwabi struggled to approach Chamwada due to the journalist's frequent travels. However, when he finally had the chance, Bwabi mustered the courage to share his dream with Chamwada. To his surprise, Chamwada was not concerned about the fees associated with pursuing his studies at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC).

Chamwada agreed to sponsor Bwabi's education and extended his support through Chams Media, where Bwabi currently works. Bwabi is set to graduate in December 2023 with a Diploma in Journalism, a testament to his determination and Chamwada's belief in his potential.

Bwabi's story has become an inspiration to others, showcasing that with perseverance and the right support, dreams can be achieved regardless of one's starting point. His colleague Collins Ogutu commended Bwabi for his winning spirit and noted his contagious optimism, which uplifts and instills hope in the office. Bwabi has also shared his skills through training, further contributing to the growth and development of others.

Chams Media, led by Alex Chamwada, is renowned for its popular TV programs, including Daring Abroad, which sheds light on the stories of Kenyans living abroad. Through his dedication to storytelling and mentorship, Chamwada continues to make a significant impact in the field of journalism.
