In a bid to nurture young talent and foster innovation in the ICT sector, Huawei, a global leader in technology solutions, conducted its flagship Management Trainee Program campus tour at the University of Nairobi. This initiative aims to identify and develop fresh talent, providing them with practical skills and employment opportunities in the industry.
Since its inception in 2018, Huawei's Management Trainee Program has seen 133 outstanding graduates absorbed into the company in Kenya alone. The program serves as a platform for students to learn cutting-edge technologies and gain valuable field experience, preparing them for the dynamic demands of the ICT sector.
The campus tour kicked off on May 20th at 1400hrs at the University of Nairobi's main campus, attracting students from various universities eager to learn more about the program. Themed 'The Sky Is The Limit', the workshop introduced attendees to the program's objectives and application process. With the registration deadline set for May 31st, 2024, aspiring candidates have a limited window to seize this opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Distinguished guests including Mr. Paul Mungai, Director of Education, Mr. Johnson Kinyua, Dean of Students at the University of Nairobi, and Ms. Fang Zheng, Human Resource Director at Huawei Kenya, graced the occasion. Their presence underscored the importance of industry-academia collaboration in shaping the future of ICT talent development.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Johnson Kinyua commended the students for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to actively participate in the program. He emphasized the transformative potential of the Management Trainee Program in propelling their careers in the ICT industry.
