Embakasi North MP James Gakuya, a close ally of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, expressed concern on Tuesday that Gachagua may not survive the impending impeachment motion. Speaking during a TV47 panel discussion, Gakuya criticized the National Assembly leadership for engaging in partisan politics, which he believes has compromised the integrity of the process.

Gakuya pointed to statements made by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula and his deputy Gladys Boss Shollei in support of the impeachment, suggesting that Gachagua’s fate is already sealed. "Their sentiments clearly show that the knives have been sharpened; there is no option, the die is cast, and he must be sacrificed," Gakuya remarked.

Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu supported Gakuya’s view, claiming that President William Ruto is the driving force behind Gachagua’s current challenges, suspecting the DP's involvement in recent anti-government protests.
