DJ Joe Mfalme Becomes State Witness in Murder Trial

Renowned Disc Jockey, Joseph Mwenda, popularly known as DJ Joe Mfalme, has been acquitted in the murder case involving Felix Kelian, a deceased detective from Kabete Police Station, and is now designated as a state witness alongside five other individuals.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has recommended charging DJ Joe's hypeman, Allan Ochieng, alias Hype Ballo, with the murder.

As a state witness, DJ Joe Mfalme will provide testimony in the ongoing trial, marking his release from remand.

Initially implicated in the murder alongside his entourage and Kikuyu Police Station officers, DJ Joe and his associates underwent a 14-day detention period to facilitate investigations.

The incident unfolded on March 23, following a confrontation between DJ Joe's entourage and Felix Kelian over a traffic altercation in Kikuyu. The DJ, returning from a performance, found himself embroiled in the dispute, which escalated into physical violence involving the officer and accompanying police personnel.

Tragically, the altercation resulted in Kelian sustaining injuries that led to his demise, prompting his family's anguish and subsequent legal proceedings.

In response to the accusations, DJ Joe expressed sympathy for the victim's loved ones and pledged full cooperation with law enforcement authorities throughout the investigation.
