Bishop Margaret Wanjiru has delivered a stern warning to President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, regarding the alleged encroachment on land belonging to her Jesus is Alive Ministries in the CBD.

Addressing her congregation upon her discharge from the hospital on Thursday, March 8, Wanjiru voiced her concerns over influential government officials' purported efforts to seize her property, despite the church's legal ownership.

Expressing her dismay, Wanjiru questioned why the President and his deputy remained silent as she faced mistreatment by government officials and the police.

Wanjiru, who played a pivotal role in supporting Ruto and Gachagua's ascent to power in the 2022 General Election, emphasized her disappointment, asserting that their working relationship had become untenable in light of recent developments.

"How many screams does Margaret Wanjiru have to make for anyone to respond and rescue us? Is this how you reward our hard work? Believe me, you will look for me," she declared.

Asserting her loyalty to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, Wanjiru recounted her dedication and sacrifices, lamenting the apparent lack of reciprocation.

"I was one of the founding members of UDA. I worked for two years straight before people came and took what I worked for and I let it go. I have loved you and your family. I have never disrespected you...but the tables are turning," she declared.

Amidst allegations of danger to her life and that of her family, Wanjiru maintained her stance on the land dispute, affirming the church's rightful ownership and possession of the title deed.

"We have never grabbed anybody's land. We do not even accept land that does not have a title deed. The sanctity of that document is very important, and that is what gives you the right of a property," she insisted.

Wanjiru's hospitalization on Wednesday, following an altercation with police officers overseeing the construction of a perimeter wall, shed light on the escalating tensions surrounding the contested land, reportedly claimed by Kenya Railways. However, the corporation has yet to comment on the matter.
