Investigations into the murder of former Treasury official Tom Osinde have revealed shocking details, suggesting that he may have been killed in his Nakuru home before his body was transported to Migori for disposal. The killers allegedly attempted to hide evidence of the crime by cleaning the bloodstains in the house.

While the motive behind the murder remains a mystery, some investigators believe that the perpetrators targeted Osinde's money. However, the two suspects currently in custody have not provided much information regarding the possible motive, claiming that they were sent on a mission without divulging further details.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Homicide Unit have joined the probe as the police intensify their search for additional suspects involved in Osinde's murder.

The prime suspect in custody attempted to conceal evidence at the crime scene, but forensic detectives meticulously combed the area and found blood samples. After subjecting the samples to forensic analysis, the police confirmed that they matched Osinde's DNA.

According to the investigation, the suspect had been employed as a farmhand by Osinde for three months prior to the murder. He had also been made a supervisor at Osinde's home during the incident. Police discovered that Osinde had hired the suspect without knowledge of his criminal history, including an assault case and allegations of molesting a minor in his home county of Kisii.

The suspect is currently being held at Menengai Police Station in Nakuru, following a 21-day detention order granted by the Molo Law Courts.

Osinde lived in one of the rooms of his still-under-construction mansion in Ngata. There was a small house in the compound where he would relax, according to his workers.

The investigation has placed the suspect at the scene of the murder, with claims that he confessed to senior officers about his involvement in the crime. An autopsy conducted on Osinde's body revealed that he died from two blows to the head, resulting in brain damage.

The police plan to charge the two suspects with murder, while the investigation is still ongoing. Authorities suspect that Osinde was killed on the same day he was reported missing, June 18, 2023. His body was found in River Kuja in Migori County on June 22, four days after his disappearance.

The police are also looking into reports of other individuals, believed to be Tanzanian nationals, being present at Osinde's house on the day of the incident. They are also investigating the mysterious tampering of the electricity connection at the deceased's residence.

As the investigation continues, more details may emerge regarding the circumstances surrounding Tom Osinde's murder, including the motive and the involvement of additional suspects. The search for justice in this tragic case continues as authorities work tirelessly to piece together the events leading to Osinde's untimely death.
