Safaricom has announced a Sh2 million sponsorship for the Bob Collymore International Jazz Festival set to take place on Saturday, February 24th at the Carnivore Grounds.

Renowned for its unwavering support for the arts and fostering emerging talent, Safaricom's cash sponsorship aims to ensure the success of the concert organized by the Bob Collymore Foundation in memory of the late ex-Safaricom Chief Executive, Bob Collymore.

This contribution is poised to elevate the festival's capacity to attract top-tier musicians, nurture budding talent such as the Ghetto Classics and Safaricom Youth Orchestra, and provide an immersive experience for attendees.

Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom's CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing Safaricom's commitment to nurturing creativity and providing platforms for young musicians to flourish.

The Bob Collymore International Jazz Festival seeks to shine a spotlight on the vibrant jazz scene and cultivate a deep appreciation for this timeless art form.

By bringing together talented artists, devoted jazz enthusiasts, and the broader community, the festival aims to create an unforgettable fusion of soulful melodies and captivating performances.

The lineup for the event includes notable artists such as Enkare Saxophone Quartet (KE), Humphrey Mubba (TZ), Samuel Mutuku (KE), Syssi Mananga (DRC), The Jazztified (KE), DJ D-lite (KE), Safaricom Youth Orchestra (KE), and the Ghetto Classics (KE).

Proceeds from the festival will be directed towards music education initiatives and supporting underprivileged children, including the Ghetto Classics.

The Bob Collymore Foundation is dedicated to providing music education to over 300 underprivileged youths in Kenya, with the aim of transforming their lives and communities.

Bob Collymore, who passed away at the age of 61 after a two-year battle with cancer in 2019, continues to be honored through initiatives like the Bob Collymore International Jazz Festival.
