The appointments were formally announced in a special issue of the Kenya Gazette dated August 31, 2026, and will see the two serve at the teachers’ employer for six years.

According to Gazette Notice No. 14000, President Ruto made the appointments under Article 250(2) of the Constitution, read together with Section 8(10) of the Teachers Service Commission Act.
