Kariobangi North Ward MCA, Joel Munuve, has passed away after developing chest pains while en route to work. He was rushed to a private hospital along Kiambu Road, where he was pronounced dead, Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Kennedy Ngondi confirmed on Tuesday.

Speaker Ngondi said the incident occurred as Munuve was heading to his office in Nairobi's Central Business District.

“He suddenly collapsed and was rushed to hospital, where he, unfortunately, passed away,” Ngondi stated.

The body has since been transferred to Lee Funeral Home, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted.

Ngondi eulogised Munuve as a dedicated and selfless leader, praising his unwavering commitment to the people of Kariobangi North.

“He was not only a colleague but a brother. His presence and insights uplifted many in the assembly. His death is a profound loss to his family, his constituents, and to the Nairobi City County Government.”

Ngondi said Munuve’s leadership and passion for service would be remembered with “immense respect and admiration.”

The Speaker noted that further details regarding Munuve's funeral and memorial arrangements will be shared in due course.
