Lawyer-turned-activist David Morara Kebaso was reportedly arrested again on Tuesday, October 8. Morara confirmed his arrest via a post on X (formerly Twitter). His lawyer, Pareno Solonka, disclosed that the activist was apprehended around 11 a.m. and forcefully bundled into a Subaru vehicle, commonly linked to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

In a series of tweets, Solonka expressed concern, stating, "Morara has just been bundled into this Subaru by DCI officials. We don’t know where he is being taken or the reasons for his arrest." Later, Solonka confirmed that Morara had been transported to Langata Police Station.

Morara's wife, Mercy Morara, also confirmed the arrest, posting on X, "They have arrested @MoraraKebasoSnr again."

According to Morara, his arrest is connected to the chaos at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday, where he attended a public hearing on the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Morara tweeted, "I have been arrested over what happened at Bomas. Can you imagine?"

During the Friday event, Morara was violently attacked by unidentified individuals who threw chairs at him, causing injuries to his head, neck, and legs. He was forced to leave the venue.

This marks Morara's second arrest in just over a week. Last Monday, he was detained by masked police, later facing cyber-harassment charges in court. His recent arrests have raised concerns over his safety, especially given his outspoken criticism of corruption and misuse of public funds.

At 28, Morara has amassed a significant social media following for his activism, but his confrontations with the authorities continue, with the state accusing him of damaging the reputation of businessman David Langat in a post that also mentioned President William Ruto.
