Police in Nyeri County, Kenya have launched an investigation after a man was found with a human head on Wednesday, July 24. The man, whose identity has not been released, was arrested while on his way to a scrap metal shop.
According to reports, it is unclear whether the victim was a man or a woman, and police have yet to establish why the suspect was carrying the human remains.
Benjamin Rotich, the Nyeri County Police Commander, confirmed the incident and revealed that the suspect was taken into custody for questioning. He also took police officers to a nearby bush where they found a human body.
The discovery of the body and body parts has sparked outrage among Kenyans, who are calling for justice for the victim's family and demanding that the suspect be held accountable.
This incident comes on the heels of several other gruesome discoveries in recent weeks, including the case of a pastor who was found with a dead body in the boot of his car and another where police discovered mutilated bodies dumped in a quarry.
The police are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward and are working to track down other suspects involved in similar incidents.
