Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Church and Prayer Centre has offered a perspective on celebrating birthdays, advising people to refrain from doing so unless they have achieved significant milestones in life.

He stressed that birthdays should not become an annual ritual, but rather a commemoration reserved for moments of genuine accomplishment. Pastor Odero, citing his personal experience, revealed that he has never celebrated his own birthday and expressed his intention to continue this practice throughout his lifetime.

He suggested that it should be the responsibility of future generations to decide whether his life merits celebration after his passing, contingent on the impact he has made and notable achievements.

To underscore his point, Pastor Odero drew a parallel between the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth and death. He explained that he refrains from celebrating his birthday because, like a soldier in the wilderness, life is a constant battle.

Furthermore, Pastor Odero questioned how some pastors manage to find time to celebrate their birthdays given their busy schedules, especially when there are numerous souls to win over.

In recent times, Pastor Odero made headlines when he questioned the police's actions during the abrupt interruption of one of his crusades in Kilifi, where a large crowd had gathered for the event.
