The postmortem conducted on Friday, June 30, has revealed the shocking details of Tom Osinde's murder. Chief government Pathologist Johansen Odour, who conducted the autopsy at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary, confirmed that Osinde had sustained severe head injuries caused by multiple blows from a heavy and blunt object.
Martin Nyaguto, the head of Homicide at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), spoke to the media and emphasized the brutality of the case. He stated that Osinde's body had injuries consistent with a cruel death due to severe beatings, particularly focused on the head.
The former Treasury employee was reported missing by his family on Thursday, June 22, and his abandoned car was discovered in Narok County two days later. Subsequently, Osinde's body was found at a local morgue in Migori, initially labeled as a John Doe.
Police reports indicate that Osinde's body exhibited a head wound, and his hands and legs were bound. As the investigation progressed, two suspects were arrested in connection with the murder. Authorities suspect that the heinous act took place at Osinde's residence in Nakuru.
The main suspect had reportedly driven Osinde's Landcruiser to his other home in Kisii, where he sought assistance from neighbors to clean the vehicle. One of the neighbors recalled their concerns about the suspect's behavior, stating that they did not wash the inside of the car after being informed that it contained a significant amount of luggage.
Further raising suspicions, the neighbors revealed that the suspect had disappeared from Kisii three years ago and only resurfaced shortly before the murder. Detectives working on the case discovered blood stains inside the car, indicating that the suspect had transported Osinde's body to Kisii before ultimately disposing of it at River Kuja in Migori.
The ongoing investigation aims to gather more evidence and establish the motive behind the brutal murder of Tom Osinde, a former Treasury official. The arrest of the two suspects brings hope for justice to be served in this tragic and disturbing case.
