Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi now says there is a reason why Azimio leader Raila Odinga breaks the law and gets away with it.

In a statement on Monday, Ahmednasir said that Kenya has a problem with the rule of law.

He said this is what has enabled Raila to 'break laws' and in the end find a way to work with governments of the day.

He said this has seen the former Prime Minister work with the government he has vied against since 1997.

"Kenya has a rule of law problem. It always had a rule of law problem. This explains why Raila 'wrecks havoc', breaks every law in the book and as a reward walks into every government formed since 1997," Ahmednasir said.

Raila who vied against former President Daniel Moi (late) and came in third place later found a way to work with Kanu then. He was named secretary general before they parted ways in the 2002 general election after Moi named Uhuru Kenyatta his preferred successor.

In 2007, he vied against former President Mwai Kibaki (late). The election saw Kibaki controversially declared winner and Raila Odinga who had contested the victory was named Prime Minister following peace talks led by former UN secretary general Kofi Annan (late).

After the 2017 general elections, Raila had a handshake with former President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he had lost to in the 2013 presidential contest.

Ahmednasir's remarks came after Raila and his supporters held protests across the cities of Nairobi and Kisumu.

The protests saw running battles between people and the police.

Raila had earlier said they intended to conduct a peaceful demonstration in Nairobi and to hand a petition with demands to President William Ruto.
