Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on January 15, asked for prayers to get out of what he described as political prison.

The former vice president made the remarks while attending a thanksgiving ceremony of Kiambu University and College Students Association (KUSCO) that was held at the City of Refuge Church in Thika, Kiambu County.

On why he was in prison, Kalonzo explained it is because, for over a decade, he has been in the political cold.

“I have lived through three rigged elections in 2013, 2017, and 2022.

“The Apostles who are here and Kenyans in general, please pray for me to get out of this prison,” he pleaded.

Kalonzo noted that he had not yet accepted the outcome of August 9, 2022, general election that saw his Azimio side lost to Kenya Kwanza.

“I still do not believe we lost the election as a lot of malpractices was witnessed during the process.

“The only way we will move on is after receiving a thorough audit of what transpired during the election,” Kalonzo told the congregants.

Kalonzo urged international organizations to facilitate the audit process so that the matter can be put to rest.

“We want bodies like Transparency International to give us the audit report of what happened in August 9, 2022” Kalonzo remarked.

Kalonzo further faulted the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and in particular Chairman Wafula Chebukati for meddling with the elections.

“The story of our elections cannot end with Chebukati or Supreme Court because they are human beings and they can make mistakes.

“It is the audit report that will bring peace and stability to our country because there cannot be peace without justice,” Kalonzo remarked on the future of the country.
