Elaine Ombasi, the creative genius behind the striking house perched atop rental apartments in Zimmerman, Nairobi, has finally shared her story and the inspiration that led to her remarkable architectural achievement.

In an interview, Elaine, a Kenyan-US-based nurse, provided valuable insights into her vision and the hard work that made her unique project a reality.

The extraordinary house, which has become the talk of the town, has captured widespread attention due to its innovative design and efficient space utilization.

Elaine Ombasi, the owner and visionary, shed light on what inspired her to embark on this unconventional endeavor.

"I had this idea, so I brought it to my builder, and he told me it was possible to implement it," Elaine revealed during the interview. "He explained the timeline, the required materials, and the cost, and we collaborated on this project. Most of our communication was done online. I knew him from my father's previous projects, and that's how we connected."

Elaine also discussed the timeline of the project, highlighting the dedication and effort invested in it.

"It took four years to complete the house. People see the finished product, but they may not realize the hard work behind it. I grew up in Zimmerman, and that's what inspired me to buy a plot here. I wanted to be close to my childhood," she explained.

When asked about her decision to build a house on top of rental apartments, the mother of three shared her vision for maximizing the use of her plot.

"I had this plot, and I wanted to make the most of the available space. I desired to have a house for my family, and I also saw the potential for rental apartments," she stated.

The unique design of her property has garnered significant attention and praise.

"It's quite interesting that it's been trending, and people are captivated by it. There are similar buildings out there, but not many," Elaine remarked. "The construction cost me millions."

Elaine provided a glimpse into the specifications of the house, describing it as "a three-story residence with four bedrooms, a laundry room, and a pantry."
