Embakasi East MP, Paul Ongili, known as Babu Owino, has always been open about his family life, frequently sharing important moments with his wife, Fridah Muthoni Ongili, and their two children. Despite his demanding political career, Babu consistently expresses admiration and appreciation for his spouse.

On Father's Day, the vocal MP posted a heartwarming message to his children, thanking God for being a father who never disappoints and sharing a photo of himself embracing his beautiful daughters.

In a recent interview with TV47, Babu Owino spoke fondly about his 13-year marriage to Fridah, praising her as an incredible blessing in his life and stating that he has no regrets about choosing her. He shared that they first met when Fridah was a first-year student at Nairobi University.

Despite the challenges of his political career, Babu emphasized that he never lacks time for his family, always making sure to be present for his wife and kids. He expressed gratitude for having a loving and supportive partner by his side.

True to his words, when Babu was arrested at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by DCI detectives, Fridah took it upon herself to fight for his release. She tirelessly searched for him at various police stations, including DCI Headquarters, JKIA Police Station, Muthaiga, Gigiri, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, and Embakasi. Finally, she learned that he was detained at Wang'uru Police Station in Mwea, Kirinyaga County.

Despite her efforts, Fridah faced obstacles in her attempts to meet her husband and provide him with food and medicine, as she revealed that she had been denied access to him. She expressed concern for his well-being, stating that he was unwell at the time of the arrest.

It is believed that Babu Owino's arrest is connected to the ongoing anti-government protests by Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition, in which he is a close ally of Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Throughout the challenging political storms, Babu Owino and Fridah Ongili's marriage has shown resilience and strength, with Fridah standing by her husband's side and advocating for his rights and well-being.
