Activist Eric Omondi has started a fundraiser through his SISI KWA SISI foundation to reward Kyalo Wambua, a man who played a crucial role in recovering bodies from the Kware dumpsite in the Embakasi neighborhood.
Omondi posted a video of himself meeting Kyalo and asked SISI KWA SISI fans to show their appreciation by contributing to the cause. Kyalo has been volunteering to help retrieve bodies of loved ones fallen into the dumpsite, and since last weekend, he has recovered 13 bodies.
“A hero is not someone in an office... These are the heroes. This guy Kyalo Wambua volunteered and recovered 13 bodies from the Kware dump site in Mukuru Kwa Njenga. TEAM SISI KWA SISI, let's completely change this man's life,” Omondi wrote in the video.
Eric urged generous individuals to send their contributions via M-Pesa, referring to Kyalo as a hero and highlighting the traumatic nature of the work he undertook. He mentioned that Kyalo deserves a vacation to relax his mind.
Kyalo has been the talk of the town since Friday when the recovery operation began. He was the only one brave enough to enter the trash-filled dumpsite and meticulously search through bag after bag, attempting to solve the mystery of the bodies dumped there.
