Kenya’s beloved milky tea, chai, is becoming harder to obtain as a drought‑induced decline in pasture has slashed dairy output. The Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) reported that formal deliveries to processors fell by 3.7 % between June and July, dropping from 84.4 million litres to 81.3 million litres, with early data suggesting the trend continued into August.
