The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced a reduction in fuel prices for the month of June. The price of super petrol will be reduced by Ksh0.66 per litre, while diesel will be reduced by Ksh1.12 per litre. Kerosene prices, however, will increase by Ksh0.35 per litre.

The new prices will take effect from midnight on Wednesday, June 14. In Nairobi, a litre of super petrol will retail at Ksh182.04, diesel at Ksh167.28, and kerosene at Ksh161.48. In Mombasa, super petrol will retail at Ksh179.20, diesel at Ksh164.45, and kerosene at Ksh158.65. In Nakuru, super petrol will retail at Ksh181.18, diesel at Ksh166.78, and kerosene at Ksh161.01.

The reduction in fuel prices is due to a number of factors, including a decline in the global price of crude oil and a weaker Kenyan shilling. However, the increase in kerosene prices is due to an increase in the cost of importing the product.

The reduction in fuel prices is a welcome relief for Kenyans, who have been facing rising costs of living. However, it is important to note that the prices of other goods and services may also increase, as businesses pass on the cost of higher fuel prices to consumers.

EPRA has assured Kenyans that it will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to fuel prices as needed.
