The Council of Legal Education (CLE) on Tuesday published the names of universities authorized to offer law courses within Kenya.
In a notice in local dailies, the council announced that these universities are the only institutions and programs cleared by the state to provide legal education.
Specifically, four institutions have been approved to offer master's programs, 18 to offer Bachelor of Laws degrees, and five to offer a Diploma in Law. Notably, the University of Nairobi was absent from the list of approved master's programs, and Kenyatta University has a pending application for licensing or renewal to offer a Master of Laws (LLM).
